Chinese New Year, known as the Spring Festival in China, marks the start of the new year on the ancient Chinese Lunisolar Calendar. In 2025, the Year of the Snake began today, on January 29, ushering in a year of wisdom, grace, and transformation. While Chinese New Year is celebrated worldwide, each family and community brings their own special touch to the festivities. From family feasts and giving red envelopes (hong bao) to watching dazzling lion dances, it’s a time to celebrate with loved ones and welcome the new year with joy.
Sharon Chinese Association is thrilled to invite you to our Annual Spring Festival Gala, happening on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Sharon Middle School Auditorium.
The Sharon Spring Festival Gala has grown into a spectacular celebration, drawing together our community to showcase the vibrant culture of China. Over the past 25 years, this event has evolved from a humble potluck gathering to a grand stage production, this year featuring 19 exciting performances. Expect to be amazed by traditional and modern dances, martial arts displays, beautiful music, captivating songs, and much more! These performances will keep you entertained for hours, highlighting the incredible talent of our community members of all ages.
The Sharon Spring Festival Gala is a festive way to experience the warmth and unity of Chinese culture right here in our town. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another year, this is a night you won’t want to miss.
